I have had a Ranger 16 for about the last twenty years. It is number 60. I believe it was built by Ranger Boats in Kent Wa. I lived a couple blocks from the plant for several years before I got my boat. I was just doing a little polishing on it and wondered if I could locate a few more to do some racing or just fooling around. I thought I would get rid of it after getting a MacGregor 26 but I just can't let it go. It's too much fun.

Hi Mike,

I have Ranger 16. My number is 16. It is performing pretty well, except I have a leak in the centerboard trunk which is puzzling. I created an drain (with plug) in the transom which drains the main hull. However the trunk section seems to be self contained because the water is held in no matter how high the bow is raise on the trailer (very noticable swishing sound when lifting the trailer tongue up and down).

Once solution is to make an access hole from the top of the centerboard trunk (or elsewhere) and siphon the water periodically since it is always drydocked.
Another is to attempt at caulking the inside of the centerboard housing from the bottom. This is very awkward and possibly unreliable as it appears my previoius ownere have tried the same thing, judging by the look of the inside centerboard sleeve. Vot sure where to begin - wish I had the construction drawings for this thing. I'd appreciate any suggestions

I have a Ranger 16 daysailer, I can't find another one on the planet? Does anyone have any info on them? Does anyone else have one. My sail # is 10 so I would think they made at least that many? I can find info on any other Ranger boat except this one.

Thanks
