Buying and Taking Care of Your Golf Bag

Golf takes up a lot of time in some people’s weekly schedule. Besides going to the course itself, they spend much time outside shopping for the things that they need such as equipment and clothing.

One of the crucial components of the basic equipment to play golf is the golf bag. A golf bag is very important because it is where you keep everything; from the essentials to the extra apparel. However not many people know how to take care of their golf bags.

Golf bags are nowadays not only limited to golfers but also too many other groups of people, especially college students. Golf, which was once just limited to playing inside the golf course, is now even played in colleges. But sometimes people just congest their bags with whatever possible, and some even put in their books and college things inside, and use them as their college backpack alternatives.

The Different Types

Basically there are three types of golf bags, which are staff bags, carry bags and cart bags. A staff golf bag is a huge bag made of leather or other high quality material that can accommodate all the fourteen clubs in a set, and it comes with many segments to put other tools and equipments. A cart bag is a golf bag which is smaller and has fewer segments, and used on carts. A carry bag is the smallest type which is made from cheaper materials and only can accommodate the basic equipment.

What Should You Carry?

Basically a golf bag is where you keep the necessary equipment you would be using for the game; such as the balls, the clubs and the clothing. When we say the golf club, it would comprise all sorts of the club; woods, irons, wedges, hybrid and putters.

Some people keep other things such as drivers, the grit and so on. And for the night owls who like to play golf in the dark, they keep a travel light, or a simple torch-light.

Besides that, some also keep their tees or other golf shirts and track pants. Alternatively if you don’t want to do this, you can have another bag to keep all of these. Most of the golf bags come with padded segments so that the clubs would not disturb the clothing that is in the bag, or even crumple them. But the lower-end ones do not have many segments and are limited to only a few things.
